What a difference a day makes!

Going from 95 degrees to 60 degrees in one day seems crazy to me but that's just what we've had here this week. Normally 95 would be a survivable, hot, summer day but when you don't have air conditioning ANYWHERE, it's about as miserable as it gets. Feeling even worse for my two dogs, I took them along for a couple of drives around the island just to cool off in our Tahoe's AC. That, along with their kiddie pool, seemed to help.

Today, however, I'm in a sweatshirt with a blanket wrapped around my legs and feet trying to keep warm. I'm convinced the heat wave broke due to the fact that I finally went to the store and bought the very last over priced fan the night before. :) It never fails....

At least it's now cool enough for me to comfortably clean, organize and mow the lawn before Bobby gets home. His flight was pushed back a day (he'll now be home on Monday night) and although that's only one day later then we had planned, when you're counting each and every minute, adding another 24 hours makes a big difference.

Jumping on the Bandwagon....

It's official - I'm jumping on the blogging bandwagon! Since moving to Oak Harbor in March, I've learned many things from the VQ-1 wives....

1. It's possible to make new friends in 30 seconds

2. Those same new friends can become much needed free therapists within 30 more seconds

3. Although deployments are hard, you can still have fun!

4. After those fun times....blog about it!

To the group of amazing gals who have kept me sane during this first deployment in a brand new city, THANK YOU! Only 5 more days until Bobby is home!
